Call for Conference of EU-Japan Regional Cooperation at Strasbourg in April 2020 : « Policy Learning, Matchmaking, and Sustainable Connectivity»

Conference on 27-29 April 2020/Location: European Parliament (tbc), Strasbourg (France)

If your prefecture, region, cluster, or organization in Japan is willing to cooperate with your counterparts in Europe, then you should be interested in the EU-Japan Regional Cooperation Helpdesk and its first conference to be organised at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France on 27, 28 and 29 April 2020. The Helpdesk is a new initiative of the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation, a joint venture established in 1987 by the European Commission (DG GROW ) and the Government of Japan (METI).

The conference is an opportunity to mobilise, inform and guide European and Japanese prefectures, regions and clusters towards more and better cooperation, find the relevant partners they need and learn about EU and Japan instruments available. In addition, the event will also include EU-Japan clusters/regions/prefectures collaboration with their counterparts in some third countries in Africa and in South East Asia.

* The conference will provide information on EU and Japan policies forregional cooperation and available funding & instruments.
* It will support you for finding and discussing with appropriate European regions and clusters to establish new cooperation and reinforcing the existing ones.
* It will give you the opportunity to cooperate with your counterparts in the important sectors of biotechnology, environmental technologies, circular economy, digital economy, agro-food and sustainable tourism.
* It will also enable you to find partners in Europe with whom you could jointly operate in third countries, e.g. in Africa or South East Asia, in the same win-win mindset as European and Japanese businesses successfully collaborate in third markets.
