西村康稔経済産業大臣は今年5月、フランスを訪問し、日本のスタートアップの発展を促す「スタートアップ５か年計画（スタートアップへの投資額を2027年度に10兆円規模に）」の重要性を強調しました。
日本経済は依然として、財閥系の大企業が影響力を持っており、新たな起業が生まれるビジネス環境が十分に整っていません。開業率やユニコーン（評価額1,000億円以上の非上場企業）の数も、欧米諸国と比べ低水準にとどまっています。このような背景から経済産業省は、海外も視野に入れた、よりダイナミックで、より開かれたスタートアップのエコシステムを構築しようと取り組んでいます。
経産省の要請を受け、HEC incubator ParisとStation Fは、日本のスタートアップ9社を対象に、15日間のイマージョンプログラムを初めて実施しました。９社は期間中、数多くのミーティングやセミナーに参加。CEFJチームも彼らと交流する機会に恵まれました。このプログラムは11月9日、ピッチ・ナイトでのプレゼンで幕を閉じましたが、参加者らは、次回はより長期のプログラムで戻ってきたいと胸を膨らませていました。今後の活躍に期待しましょう。
