he Maruyama Nori house was born in 1854, at the end of the Edo period, in the Nihonbashi district of Tokyo (which was still called, as in the past, Edo). It was to carry out the wholesale trading of dried seaweed. Its founder Hikobei Tsushima then established the company under the name Kawaguchiya with which the history of this house begins. In 1980, the Japanese tea brand Jugetsudo was created within the house, according to the same criteria of very high quality and innovation. This is the most beautiful heritage of the old nori trade: transmitting to customers, through the grace of tea, a certain spirit of Japanese taste, guarantor of authentic values and delicate flavors.
